WORST - I confess that my afterglow from last week’s Saturday Meeting for Discernment/Extended Worship has faded. Our morning meeting for worship with a concern for vocation have been difficult for me this week….as I close my eyes, and relax to find Holy Presence, I start dreaming of the hybrid musk roses I ordered, wondering if that spot by the cranberries I have used to grow salad greens would work better for an asparagus bed. Dream of having either the skill or the money to make or purchase a cold-frame so I could start my heirloom lettuce seeds from Seed Savers Exchange early. Is it time to divide the day lilies, where should I seed the sweet peas, did the leaves in my leaf corral decay enough to be used this spring, is my compost ready to spread around? The questions are endless, the excitement mounting.
I’m having a concern for gardening crowded by my meeting for worships.

I don't mean to add to the worst... but... you definitely have the skill to build a cold frame. I'm sure you could get most of the supplies for free on Freecycle.
Ummm... I'm not helping, am I.

gardening is worship

If this was a MfW with a concern for Vocation, perhaps it was an answer. Literally and/or metaphorically, it sounds rather apt for you.

Wow -
Erin - That is so helpful; I looked up some plans online....and I am going to go to out reclycling dump tomorrow and see if they have any old windows. You are helping really!
Aola - :) Yes it is.
R- Ummm....My husband and I have been having MfW with a concern for Vocation daily.....maybe it was an answer indeed.

Not only that! Angi, you have a HUSBAND with a little free time to build that cold frame FOR YOU..... and I think those guys from Wyoming all have a fix-it-build-it gene!
I guess this is not too worshipful?? Or maybe it's a "temporary" answer to the "vocation" question for L.

Anj, though I may be a bit heretical in how much I trust that there is that of God in every living thing (not just in humans) I think it very likely that with the spring, the God-of-musk-roses-and-asparagus may have come to teach Her people Herself.
I sometimes need to remind myself that I do not worship with my thinking mind only, but with my heart and dreams and my whole body. And, truly, I wonder if this is distraction from worship, or exactly the worship that you most need at present? I trust the God of growing things to speak to us through the smell of soil and the dreams of roses, and I think we can trust what She has to say.
Just my thoughts...
